Director of International, University of Auckland: "CANIE represent all that is good about our field. A group of people who are volunteering their time out of their conviction that they can change the world, one conversation at a time."

The current market disruption to the international education industry has afforded us the opportunity to address the growing conflict between the carbon footprint of our industry travel and the carbon neutral goals of our organizations. The grass roots organization Climate Action for International Educators is convening this conversation in a supportive way but also holding a mirror to the field. They represent all that is good about our field. A group of people who are volunteering their time out of their conviction that they can change the world, one conversation at a time.

We love their spirit, their attitude, their conviction, their passion, and their inclusive approach. Auckland was ranked #1 for global impact for the first two years of the new THE impact rankings measuring universities work on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). CANIE is helping us reflect on our own strategy and sustainability focus, on SDG 13 Climate Action, as well as our range of work on sustainability. Consequently, we are bursting with pride that we are able to sponsor the inaugural year of the CANIE Climate Dialogues podcast.
