Starting Point: Breda, Netherlands

Form of Travel: Train

Hours of Travel (one-way): 22 hours

CO2 Emissions Cut (one-way): 155 kg

Itinerary:

Day 1: Breda --> Antwerp | Antwerp --> Paris

Overnight: Paris, Gare d'Austerlitz --> Latour de Carol

Day 2: Latour --> Barcelona Sants

What will you do while traveling? "I'll sleep for a significant portion of the trip, other than that I'll be enjoying the views (the section from Latour the Carol to Barcelona is very scenic), perhaps meeting other EAIE travellers (reach out on the LinkedIn group if you're travelling the same route!), and work. I'm also considering arriving in Paris earlier and include a visit to the Louvre, which is right en route."

What are/were some of the challenges you're facing while organizing your trip, or that you might encounter during travel?: "Price interestingly wasn't an issue - I could book the trip for the price of a budget air trip by booking early. It did take some piecing together of routes and where to buy the tickets. Another hurdle is having to transfer stations in Paris (from Gare du Nord to Gare d'Austerlitz) but I travel light and might take advantage of that and pick a nice spot for dinner in Paris."
